Tyger Tyger has been at the market this summer season, and we love having her! This is what the owner has to say:
Tyger Tyger offers locally cultivated air plants and succulents, as well as one-of-a-kind terrariums and arrangements which incorporate natural elements, found materials, metaphysical crystals, and whatever else I can get my hands on. Hi, I’m Emma Tutor, owner-operator of Tyger Tyger, Cooper Young resident, and proud plant lady.
My interest in plants and botany comes from my mother, who would teach me the names of all the trees and plants we passed on our walks when I was a child. We had a rich vegetable garden at our house growing up, and I’ve always valued the fresh produce I find at our community farmers market. For most of my adult years, I’ve lived in apartments or houses with little to no outside space, so I filled up my house with plants that could manage inside. My thumb is not quite as green as my mother’s, and I’ve found that air plants and succulents are some of the easiest, low-maintenance plants around.
Plants bring a calming, peaceful energy into the home by improving the air quality and tuning the spirit into the earth’s natural grounding energy. Maintaining a house plant or a beautiful terrarium is like a meditation; it takes patience, diligence, and love. Every time you water or nurture a plant, you are recommitting yourself to upholding these qualities.
If you’re looking to bring the earth element into your home and exercise your green thumb, come talk to me. I’m happy to point you towards plants that fit your needs and your space. I’m also happy to make custom arrangements that channel particular energies or qualities, which make wonderful and personal gifts.
