What is the Local Greens Program?
The Local Greens Program is a new program at the Cooper Young Farmers Market (CYCFM) aimed at making fresh, locally grown produce accessible to everyone! This matching program funds a dollar for dollar match (up to $20) for all Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) funds redeemed at the CYCFM. Local Greens funds can be used to purchase fruits and vegetables only.
Local Greens tokens first serves an individual or family by providing fresh food – and then puts money in the pocket of a small, local farmer!
How can I participate?
Local Greens is available to all SNAP participants. Every $1 of SNAP funds redeemed at the CYCFM, SNAP participants will receive a matching $1 Local Greens token (up to a $20 match) every week of the market. To receive your Local Greens tokens and double your SNAP funds, simply swipe your EBT card at the market information booth. Then enjoy the fresh food provided by local producers!
