CYCFM: Where are you from?
BG: Toone, TN
CYCFM: How did you being farming?
BG: I guess I have at least helped farm all of my life. I started out in my granddad's garden and in the hay fields with my father. After college I made the decision to come back to the farm and work because I love being outdoors, working alongside my family and operating our own business.
CYCFM: What is your favorite crop to grow?
BG: My favorite crop to grow is probably pumpkins. We grow dozens of different varieties with varying sizes, shapes and colors. I like the fact that we can have a field full of thousands of pumpkins and no two look exactly the same.
CYCFM: What is our favorite crop to eat/cook?
BG: This is a tough one... It may be a 3 way tie with sweet corn, strawberries and blueberries.
CYCFM: How do you relax on the farm?
BG: Spend time with my family. I have 2 girls, the oldest is 10 and the youngest will be 2 in July. I am a big football fan. I try to catch as many Ole Miss and New York Giants football games as I can.
CYCFM: What is your favorite part about the Cooper Young Community Farmers Market?
BG: The Cooper-Young Community is what I like best about the market. Everyone is so friendly and I love meeting all the artists that live there.
