Spring Forward with the Cooper-Young Community Farmers Market!

Sandy Watson

Daylight Savings was slightly brutal, but we get more daylight once we spring forward! Spring is a time of renewal, rebirth, rejuvenation, resurrection, and regrowth. Nature is announcing spring’s arrival by way of the beautiful Daffodils and Crocus’ popping up and the Chinese Magnolias’ delicate blooms. Soon the Crepe Myrtle’s will be flitting in the breeze, spreading bits of Flora through the air. Along with blooming flowers and trees, we are rounding the bend towards a more diverse veggie season. And the CSA’s are filling up fast! The Fauna are rejoicing in the sunshine. Goats and Lambs are prancing around the fields. Does are having kids left and right!

The change in the weather has me longing to get my hands (and feet) in the dirt! It’s time to start replanting herbs and whatever I can in my container pots. Whenever I get the chance, I wish to be outside. Regardless of the onset of sneezing. Midtown Herbs will have plant starters to satisfy my gardening itch!

Stop by the Market Info Booth for more information about our market. We will be promoting Memphis Botanic Garden's Regions Free Family Membership. The Garden is committed to providing access to all families. Qualifying families can come to the Garden with their SNAP/EBT card to receive their membership. More information can be found at

Did you know you can use SNAP/EBT at CYCFM? Come by the Market Info Booth for tokens to use at our Meat, Veggie, and Bread Vendors!
