MARKET SPONSORSHIP
The Cooper-Young Community Farmers Market is a thriving weekly market that provides an economic outlet for local farmers, producers and artisans. In addition to it’s popular weekly markets, CYCFM encourages the growth of a equitable, prosperous Memphis food system through it’s technical support of the Urban Ag. Entrepreneurship Program and the creation of it’s Double Green$ Delivery Program.
The mission of the Cooper-Young Community Farmers Market (CYCFM) is to provide the residents of Midtown and surrounding neighborhoods with a socially diverse, year-round marketplace that supports local farmers, producers and artisans. To foster good health, development and food security in Memphis we are also partnering with other local organizations to provide community outreach, health/wellness education, and access to affordable, nutritious foods for low-income communities. Here’s a quick look at our 2013 plans and what you would be supporting:
- Urban Agriculture Entrepreneurship Program, in collaboration with Grow Memphis and Knowledge Quest, to deliver business skills training for urban farm/community garden participants in Orange Mound, South Memphis and Binghampton
- Double Greens Delivery, a pilot project for a new neighborhood delivery system to increase consumption of fresh produce in low-income communities
- CYCFM Full Circle Dinners, with local chefs cooking delicious, multi-course meals from locally-sourced fruits, vegetables and meats
- CYCFM Community Table, featuring a variety of health/wellness activities, including cooking demonstrations, yoga, canning & pickling, non-profit initiatives, and promotion of kid-friendly events around the city
As a volunteer-based, non-profit organization, CYCFM depends on the support and participation of people and businesses in the community. Your support is vital to the growth and success of the CYCFM market. It’s also a great way to advertise your business within the community. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor or have any questions please feel free to contact us at 901.725.2221, or by email at debbi@cycfm.org. We accept credit card, cash and checks. As a functioning 501(c)3 organization, all donations over $250 are tax deductible.
